The Beginning
Because of Pre-Pack's proximity with a regional processor in northern Illinois, and their need for a dependable, efficient, heavy duty fruit peeler for melons, they worked together to develop their Automatic Fruit Peeler. Shortly after that customer purchased their first Peeler, they ordered a second.

Introduction of the Automatic Melon Peeler
Pre-Pack introduced their Automatic Fruit Peeler at the International Fresh-cut Produce Association in Tampa, Florida, in 1999. Because potential customers are somewhat skeptical of any new piece of equipment, Pre-Pack sent Peelers to different fruit processor's faclilities for short evaluation periods.  Every Peeler that was sent out was purchased.  Less than a year later, Pre-Pack had twelve Peelers in various processing facilities, three of them went to the United Kingdom.

Success
Today, fruit and vegetable processors, large and small alike, throughout North America, Europe and Asia are using the Pre-Pack Machinery Automatic Fruit Peeler. Besides honey dew, cantaloupe, and pineapple, customers are using their Peelers to peel rutabaga, summer & butternut squash, mangoes, eggplant, papaya, and jicama.

Reliability
Field proven for over 5 years, the Peelers have proven to be very reliable. Top quality components such as Allen Bradley MicroLogix PLCs, Baldor inverter duty motors, and Toshiba variable frequency drives are used to control the various functions of the Peeler.

Service
Pre-Pack's goal is total customer service.  Though Pre-Pack's Peelers are very reliable, any electrical or mechanical device may fail.  Pre-Pack's staff is commited to doing whatever it takes to keep their equipments up and running.  Their capable staff works directly with customer's personnel to insure that any down time is minimal.  If needed, Pre-Pack can send out field engineers on very short notice to make any needed repairs.  In the five years their Peelers have been in the field, Pre-Pack has been able to work with customers over the phone to resolve any problems, and have never had the need to send out personnel for emergency service work.

Parts
Pre-Pack has an extensive parts inventory that are available for immediate shipment.  All consumable parts such as peeling blades, are stocked in great quantity.
