Design Issues  Design Issues

By listening closely to their customers, Pre-Pack's engineers will take their ideas and needs, and layout their processing room using a computer-aided-drafting (CAD) program. Pre-Pack will then add the additional equipment, and present the layout to the customer. After discussion, Pre-Pack will make changes as needed. After the customer has approved the layout, Pre-Pack will then quote and fabricate the equipment.

Building a Production Cut Melon Line   Building a Production Cut Melon Line

After drawings are approved by the customer, Pre-Pack begins fabricating the customer's new line.  In a typical cut melon line, melons are gently washed and floated to the Melon Peeler operators.  After the melons are peeled, they are placed onto a conveyor that transports the melons to trim personnel.  The trim personnel remove the tops and tails of the melons, cut the melons in half, and remove the seed cavities.  The halved melons are then placed on a conveyor belt that conveys the melons to the dicing station.  After dicing, the melon chunks are then given a final rinse, dried, and transported to the packaging area.
